Ahmed A. Amer is the founder and manager of “Lotus for Engineering Consultations”, a firm established in Egypt in 2009 to provide know-how transfer, consultations and training services to engineering industries in general and to metallurgical industries in particular

Dr. Amer is a consultant for around 30 years for many metallurgical industrial firms in Egypt, Taiwan, China and India

Dr. Amer was a consultant for the Egyptian Government (Cabinet of Ministers) for two projects; TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training Reform Program) and SDP (Skills Development Project)

Dr. Ahmed Amer served for; 3 years at ARAB ALUMINIUM, as the Engineering Manager, 8 years at ARCOSTEEL, Arab Co for Special Steel, as the Production Sector Manager and as the Quality Sector Manager, for 3 years at ENC, El- Nasr Castings Co as the Quality Sector Manager and the R & D General Manager, and for about 17 years at EGYPTALUM, Egypt Aluminum Co as a metallurgist

Dr. Amer is selected to be included in the "Leading Scientists of the World 2005", England, 2004, to be included to the “Outstanding Scientists of the 21st Century”, International Biographical, Cambridge, England, 2003, and  elected to be included in the 7th edition of “Who’s Who in Science and Engineering”, NJ, USA, 2002

Dr. Amer published about (20) scientific papers in USA, Germany, Egypt, Serbia, Yugoslavia, and India, plus a book in Arabic about “Steel and the Effect of Alloying Elements” and he supervised many master researches and graduation projects for students at engineering and science colleges

Dr. Amer is a member of “The Institute of Cast Metals Engineers”, MICME, UK, board member of the “Egyptian Society for Heat Treatment”, member of the “Egyptian Engineers Syndicate” and member of the “Egyptian Foundrymen Society”

Dr. Ahmed Amer worked for 9 years as a metallurgical lecturer at the “Aluminum Technical Institute”, Assiut University and is working for around 35 years as a free lancer for vocational and technical training at many technical institutions

Dr. Amer has performed many training courses in Egypt (Egyptalum, ENC, ARCOSTEEL, Kandeel, EJSWCo, Suez Steel), KSA (Al-Tuwairqi, Hadeed), UAE (Emirates Steel), Bahrain (Bahrain Steel), Libya (Misrata), China (Qingdao Iron & Steel), Taiwan (Yuan Gang Industrial) and Iran (PAMIDCO). Training courses are covering the topics as aluminum industry, steel industry, waste management, quality and safety
